Critters

Three of our goats. We had started out with seven girls. We have added some babies since and I will introduce them as we go. Only the animals that we intend to keep has names. That is so I don't get attached. If they come with names we do use them. Keep a lookout for the brush behind the goats. It is amazing how fast a goat can eat through brush. They have 1700 running feet of fence that they graze in. We got them in June and it has been bare back there for a little over a month now.

These ponies had only stayed for a short time. The lady that had this house listed just called us up one day and asked if we could take 4 Shetland ponies off her hands. So we did! We then traded three of them for 7 nanies. We could of sold the ponies for more but they went to a great home and will get to stay together. We were after goats so it was a great trade all around. We had kept Mocha not pictured here. She was the odd man out in the group of ponies. Just plain looking and skinny. I loved her personality and knew that she would be happy staying with us. Our other pony Reese is a recluse and needed a friend. He is now her shadow. They make such a great pair. She is such a spoiled pony and comes to us every time we go out. I just love her!

Reese loves the boys but will not come to Joel or I unless we have a treat for him. A friend of our rescues animals for the county. She had given us Reese. He is such a pretty pony. With Mocha he is starting to warm up to us. In the picture above is our cat Mouser. She is the best cat ever. She had kittens in April. That was such a good experience. After she had her first kitten she had cleaned it up and took it to Caleb and layed it by his head. Which woke him up. The boys and I then watched her "poop out" kittens four total. Oh the questions that I had to answer but it was a great thing to share with the boys. There are also 2 guinea fowl above. We only have one left a coon had gotten the other while she was sitting on eggs. Such a sad day for me. I love my guineas. They are just ugly but they are so fun to watch. The guinea that we have left will get in the dogs faces and chew them out and they just let him. The guinea rules the roost around here.
The dog sleeping with Josiah is Chandler. He is part beagle and boston terrier. We have our days with him. Sometimes we like him others well...he is just an idiot. But all in all he is a good dog. Loves the boys.
